Matt Grassi Played one season with BCMMHL North West Giants, were he helped the Giants to a Provincial Berth.

Salmon Arm Silverbacks defenceman Matt Grassi has committed to attend Michigan State University next fall, the club announced Friday.

Grassi is currently in his third season with the SilverBacks. His scholarship offer comes fresh off his silver medal performance with Team Canada West at the World Junior “A” Challenge in Camrose, Alberta.

Giant Road Trip

The NWG are on the road this weekend. The young and league leading Major Midget Team is off to Castlegar to play the Ice. The team stopped in Penticton on the way over to watch a Vees Game where one of last season players Garett Milan put on a 4pt show for his old mates. After the game the Giants were invited to see the Vees new dressing room facilities, part of the new Pentcton arena. It was a great to expierence to see a BCHL game and facility

Giants Burn Bruins

After a BYE week, the NWG had two big games this weekend to test their readiness to take on the red hot Bruins. On Saturday night the Giants and Bruins faced off at BWC with WHL and NCAA Scouts on hand to watch their prospects compete.
